Holy. Carp.

So uh, you want to get a buttload of hits on your blog? Post something retarded on YouTube. But our dear friend overheard Kirk Lazarus opined, don’t ever go full retard.

But seriously. These two videos (The Renewed Mind and Our Promised Seed) that I uploaded to YouTube over the past week or so have been responsible for over (or around) 2000 hits to this humble blog in the past two days alone. TWO. DAYS. Ridiculous. Oh and if you’re a new visitor to these here parts, welcome! Hopefully you’ll find something that will amuse and/or offend you…or possibly both at the same time!

And as a way of explanation, I’ve gotten a lot of questions on here and on YouTube about who these people are in these videos, what church are they from, etc. For the sake of clarification, here’s the deal (at least as I understand it): They’re from a group called The Way International, which a quick Google search reveals to be something of a cult. I don’t know a ton about them, other than that they don’t believe in a Trinity. They don’t think that Jesus is God and they believe that there is somehow a difference between the “Holy Spirit” (which is merely another world for God the Father) and the “holy spirit” (some sort of presence or entity who isn’t God, but causes speaking in tongues). Or something like that. If you want a really crazy idea of what they believe, just look into their views on the original sin in Eden. I’ll leave it at that.

So yeah! Wild times here at ye olde Haus of Hunte. Thanks for being part of the ride. We’ll have a lot more awesomeness in the days to come.

Hey, JeHu –

Thanks for posting an update with information about the origin of those videos…I was asking those same questions. Awesome stuff, by the way. I’m thinking of sending it out to my congregation with a note like, “…introducing our new worship team…”

Hey, I’m one of the 2000 thousand new hits on your blog from the video! I just had to see who the heck would post something as hilarious as that. I added you to my RSS reader just so I could see what other crazy stuff you have up your sleeve. Can’t wait to read (and watch) more!

Jeremy,

Congrats on launching an Internet phenomenon. I once had a hand in bringing John Daker to the world, so I know how awesome and exciting these things can be. I’m not saying I invented the Internet or anything, but something like that.

Anyway, I hope you’ll stay humble even in the face of such shining awesomeness. The Devil would like to bring you down for exposing this bad dancing cheesy contemporary Christian cult. Don’t give Satan the satisfaction. Stand firm in your faith and in the power of YouTube.

And remember the baby pandas.

Randy – Please let me know if you do indeed introduce this to your flock. I would love to know their reaction.

Brad – Or should I call you Ruggles? Sweet last name. Thanks some much for stopping by. I checked your page. I need to get your designer to revamp this place.

Oh and I loved the Ransomed shirt. Very, very cool. I have a certain love for the word “ransom” and all that it entails. I’d wear one of those.

Steve – Thank you my brother for the kind, but stern, words of admonishment. I take them in the spirit with which they were given. I will endeavor mightily to remain humble in the midst of my ever-increasing awesomeness. See you tomorrow at lunch.

You (or they) may have created the newest brain-worm. My partner just complained, “Now I’m going to have that in my head all day.” Congrats.
